I love, as does Tikbuzz, unique passion, drive and determination. So it’s all the more sweeter for us both that The Cribs be honoured with such a prestigious award. They have grafted their own path through the often dark and barbed music industry by not jumping on the gravy train, sticking to their own sound and being true to their fans, classic British Rock.
I have never been lucky enough to go to a gig of theirs, but I have watched much footage. The band’s engrained ‘fight till the end’ sort of attitude which oozes from their music is worn like a heart on their sleeve during shows, and was the catalyst for some of the most insane gigs in the past decade.
Their dedication to pursuing their own styles of music blossomed into the band themselves encapsulating the spirit of the Punk genre. It’s another great example that with the right passion and talent the beckoning gravy train will become a dot in the rearview mirror. As well as their recent success The Cribs will also be releasing a 12 track Payola demo CD with the next issue of NME magazine, what heroes!
